Jack's Daily Duty #2
He loves the Dust-Buster, I can't stop him from cleaning the rug. I'm guessing he loves the sound of the motor......like a race car.
Today we left OK and dashed through the TX Panhandle..175 miles. It was our fourth day of COLD weather.... thick fog, heavy drizzle, 38 degrees. No blue sky. I drove today, 62 miles!!! Getting better all the time.
When we crossed over the New Mexico border the sun came out....yea! We are now parked at Tucumcari and it is 57 degrees, we may go swimming, it feels so good. LOL

Still in OK

Today in Elk City, OK we toured the Route 66 Museum Complex...four museums for the price of one...Route 66, National Transportation, Old Town and Farm Machinery and Blacksmith. Sounds like a lot but it was compact and very nicely done.

Tulsa
Friday, March 25th Arriving in Tulsa, we found bright sunshine, mid 70's. We took a lovely bike ride in River Park, a twenty mile bike/walk trail on both sides of the Arkansas River south of downtown. The blossoming trees and many animal sculptures enhanced the ride.

We woke up Saturday to a shock! 40 degrees and drizzle. We put on our jackets and went on our way.
The highlight of the Tulsa sightseeing was a visit to the Gilcrease Museum, a world class collection of Western Art. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the paintings and sculptures by Remington, Russell, Moran and others. Even Jack was impressed. The 23-acre grounds around the museum were in full spring bloom. More info....gilcrease.utulsa.edu
We did a driving tour of downtown to see the many Art Deco buildings but the drizzle got in the way.
We're now cozy in the coach watching a NASCAR race.

OKLAHOMA!
Yesterday we traveled the scenic route from Hot Springs to Ft. Smith, AR on the way to Oklahoma. We were ready for the beauty and spaciousness of a state park. We picked Brushy Lake, just north of I-40. Twenty-four campsites on a beautiful lake, no problem getting a site, only four campers including ourselves. We have a private resort! The weather is mild, mid-60's, bright sunshine.
I'm studying the tourist brochures and tomorrow we go to Tulsa...never been there.
Jack's daily duty.

Hot Springs, AR
Yesterday we drove to Hot Springs to visit the National Park. I drove a total of 31 miles, rest stop to rest stop. It's a start! If I drive often, Jack tells me I will get comfortable. LOL
This area is called the Valley of the Vapors because of all the hot springs spewing from the earth. Hot Springs National Park is dedicated to preserving the history of the area and the bathhouses. The main street of town has seven beautifully restored bathhouses where people would come for the healing properties of the mineral springs. We "Took the Baths"....went to one of the historic spas. This one has 5 lovely pools of different temperatures and we soaked up the healing waters. We ended the visit with a couples massage. We felt wonderful!
There are fountains around town where people come and fill their jugs with the spring water to drink for the medicinal properties. It does taste wonderful.....so pure and clear.

Yesterday we had a entertaining visit with George & Janet Sanders at their lovely home in Mountain Brook, AL, near Birmingham. We strolled their village and enjoyed Mexican food. They are great conversationalists!
Today we traveled 245 miles through four states....Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee ( short jog near Memphis) and now we are in West Memphis, Arkansas.Weather is mild, 75 degrees, just perfect.
We'll stay here two nights and head west to Hot Springs, AR, on Monday. Have to be in an RV park with cable tv....DWTS!

Our Day
Greetings! Yesterday we spent the morning on our volunteer duties, seminar monitors. Wearing our dorky hats. We really enjoyed ourselves and will volunteer again at rallies.
In the afternoon we visited the History of Military Aviation at Robbins AFB. Three buildings of an excellent collection of military airplanes and displays, lovely grounds. (Need to learn how to turn pic)
Of course Jack loved it!
We're heading West.
We depart this morning for Birmingham...225 miles to visit with Country Coach Friends, George and Janet.
